Journeyman Millright

Camex Equipment Sales & Rental’s Inc.(“Camex”) has IMMEDIATE opening for Journeyman MILLWRIGHT with Electrical and Hydraulic Experience on Trucks.

The Millwright is responsible for installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams. This will be accomplished through the safe and effective use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. This position also requires that the Millwright troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or pneumatic problems with associated equipment. The Millwright is also responsible for repairing malfunctioning equipment, such as motors, cylinders, pumps, valves, controls, conveyors, bearing assemblies and other machines.


  • Four-year apprenticeship certification program certified or 10 years direct experience as a Millwright.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or one year community college.
  • Licensed journeyman,
  • Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Able to fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance, or overhaul.
  • Thorough knowledge of load bearing capabilities of the equipment to be installed, assembled, or dismembered.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturers quality standards.
  • Accurate and highly analytical.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring apprentices.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.


Ensure that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.

Inspect machinery as it arrives, unload the parts, and then assemble them with the safe and effective use of hand and power tools.

Relocate unassembled equipment as it arrives, positioning the machinery and pieces that need to be assembled, using hoists, dollies, and trucks.

Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.

Dismantle machines by using hammers, crowbars, wrenches, and other hand or power tools.

Where necessary, construct a foundation for new equipment, using building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.

Align machines and equipment during installation, using hoists, jacks, squares, ruler, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

Setting up and operating standard machine tools, including saws, drill presses, and milling machines, and their attachments, to facilitate the efficient completion of the assembly and repair of stationary rotating equipment.

Assemble all machinery and equipment by bolting, tack welding, riveting, or fastening them to pre-built foundations.

Heating and cutting with oxy-fuel equipment

Removing and installing electric motors

Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications.

Repair any problems associated with new equipment.

Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production.

Leads apprentices and directs them to ensure successful task completion.

Perform preventative maintenance once the machines and equipment are put into operation.

Complete all paperwork as required.

Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.

Rental Assistant

IMMEDIATE  opening for a Rental Assistant

 This position assists the Rental Manager with all aspects of internal and external customer service. The Rental assistant is responsible for completing all rental contracts including lease and RPO contracts.

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a good knowledge of trucks, trailer and attachments.


  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma preferred or equivalent experience
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Willing to take Alberta APPRES course
  • Knowledge of oilfield, construction & gravel transportation equipment preferred
  • Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft office suite


  • Customer assistance including rate quotes and equipment requirements availability, repair requirements
  • Prepare rentals, contracts, contract extensions, rental purchase option (RPO) or lease contracts, ensure  Insurance is in place and payment set up (i.e. Direct Deposit)
  • Locate equipment being rented and verity easy customer access
  • Verify all paperwork is in place before releasing rental equipment
  • Advise Camex Main Shop when rental equipment is being picked up or returned
  • Coordinate with Camex main shop for inspections on rental returns
  • Trouble shoot with customer if they are having trouble with equipment
  • Establish vendors for repairs that cannot be completed by Camex
  • Check yard for current inventory and update data base as needed
  • Tracking of all rental vehicles
  • Inspect returned rental units and document mileage
  • Email or fax contract with insurance requirements to customers
  • Customer assistance when Rental Manager is our of the office or busy with other customers (i.e. Rate quotes and availability of equipment)
  • Maintain accurate customer files with all applicable correspondence and report to Management on status as required
  • Work with Sales team on rental purchases
  • Register and discharge all liens on Camex equipment
  • Obtain registration and license plates for new rental units
  • Obtain buy out letters for customers and verify for accuracy and forward to customer
  • Tracking of license plates on Rental Purchase Offers (RPOs) and requesting license plate returns on purchased rental equipment.
  • Check and update unit Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) on all rental units
  • Taking Register Imported Vehicles (RIV) units to be certified at local service center in Leduc by their automotive mechanics
  • Ensuring all proper documentation is in place for new units and stored in Camex document bags. (Documentation includes Form 1, NVIS, USA Title and Tank Certifications)
  • Maintain documentation on Camex light duty vehicles
  • Inspecting equipment and signing  acceptance documents on incoming equipment from delivery companies/ carriers
  • Send Change Order s to Camex Detail department when required
  • Creating and/or maintaining rental unit and lease unit files
  • Verify customer’s account status before preparing rental contracts
  • Identifying possible new business leads through customer requests for new equipment lines
  • Making sure all rental units and lease unit files contain a rental request, signed Rental/Lease contract, proof of insurance and an amortization payment schedule  for all leases
  • Shuttling rental units to and from the Paint & Detail shop for detailing
  • Completing Bills of Lading for incoming and outgoing equipment (if yard staff is unavailable)
  • Developing a process for improving the recording of our receiving and dispatching of water and fuels tanks, fuel/ lube tanks verifying that they have been cleaned upon return to Camex.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of weekly sales reports
  • Preparing month end inventory listing for the Controller and/or CFO
  • Sign off on all rental documents in  the absence of Rental Manager
  • Obtaining training relevant to the position
  • Participating in Trade shows
  • Other duties as assigned
