Marketing Communications Research Specialist

IMMEDIATE opening for Marketing Communications Research Specialist  – Full Time position

The Marketing Communications Research Specialist position will include but not be limited to collaborating in the development, implementation and execution of strategic marketing plans in order to attract potential customers, retain existing ones, and drive sales and branding in our marketplace.

 This position would report directly to the Marketing Manager.

 Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education and experience in Marketing
  • Market research and analysis experience
  • Internet marketing skills and experience
  • Communications and/or electronic media skills and experience
  • Website and social media development skills and experience
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License

Duties:

  • Aid in developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.
  • Collecting and analyzing data on markets, competitors and consumers to make informed decisions about the best way to approach a market.
  • Gathering market intelligence to uncover the viability of current and existing products/services as well as developing pricing strategies for these products and services.
  • Improving lead generation campaigns - measuring results.
  • Developing website content, planning and managing social media campaigns, and email campaigns.
  • Liaising with media organizations, advertising agencies and suppliers.
  • Help develop the company’s marketing budget.
  • Collaborate on the development, creation and publication of all marketing material.
  • Maintaining effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company departments are kept informed of marketing objectives.
  • Updating database photos and records including inventory on 3rd party websites.
  • Cleaning, updating and organizing customer mailing lists.
  • Updating electronic and print advertising.
  • Keeping up to date detailed marketing department records.

Territory Manager - Sales Department

Position Summary:

With a solid understanding of Camex product lines, as well as our customers’ business and equipment needs, Territory Manager (TM) will be the primary customer contact in their region. This person is responsible for direct sales and rental of new and used units within his/her territory.

Aware of industry trends and equipment sources, the TM will forecast and regularly identify prospective equipment for sale or consignment. As part of a team, he will be involved in equipment purchase and refurb decisions.

The TM works with a degree of autonomy and, as a key representative of Camex, conducts himself professionally and in the company’s best interest at all times. His goal is to grow a loyal customer base that thinks of Camex first for their transportation needs.

 Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Traveling in territory a minimum of 6 – 8 days per month, visit all accounts regularly, in person, in accordance with their purchasing habits to make sure that we understand their needs, and deliver against them in a timely and professional manner
  • Regularly prospect and cold call new accounts, participate in all sales opportunities
  • Attain yearly sales and profitability objectives as set out by Camex in the Annual Sales Forecast (rolled out earlier in first quarter for each year)
  • Take responsibility for the sales cycle from signed order thru timely delivery, invoice and payment to assure deal profitability and a satisfied customer
  • Assure good working relationships between customer and Camex (rentals and parts & service, etc.) to resolve problems and grow customer loyalty
  • Profile all accounts, keeping customer contact info up-to-date
  • Maintain accounts in good standing, including from time-to-time resolving A/R issues
  • Maintain complete records related to each sale, including call reports, quotes, specifications, sales orders, expense reports, and other documentation as required
  • Working together with colleagues in all aspects of business development, including participating in auctions, and standing in for TMs on sales and deliveries as required.

Competencies:

Account Management - Develops relationships with key decision makers, understands and responds to customer needs, tracks and monitors account activity. Takes accountability for customer issues and assures they are resolved promptly and in a fashion that earns customer loyalty.

Sales Skills - Develops new business, identifies and sells to customer needs, translates product features to benefits, listens more than he talks, delivers effective presentations, negotiates well, and closes when appropriate.

Sales Team Support - Shares information with manager and team, works as part of a team, works with other departments, balances short- and long-term goals.

Territory Management - Develops detailed sales plans, forecasts sales, manages time and work flow, creates effective call plans, monitors and responds to competition, networks and generates referrals. Has good time management skills. 

Qualifications:

  • A positive and professional attitude to both internal and external challenges
  • Computer literate, especially MS Office, Excel and Word
  • Understanding of specialized transportation equipment and related industries
  • Strong people skills, with high desire to serve customers and nurture relationships
  • Ability to work unsupervised, get things done under pressure, and cooperate with team members who may have different focus and priorities
  • 5 years sales experience (or equivalent)
  • Class 5 drivers licence required; class 1 would be considered an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Regular overnight travel in territory
  • Head office location is Camex, Nisku, AB
